Handyman Services You Can Rely On

Is your home maintenance to-do list overwhelming?

Are you tired of trying to balance your career, family and maintaining a beautiful home? If so, you’ve found the right place!

Are you a retiree who would rather be on the golf course, on a hike or at the beach as opposed to dealing with home repairs?

Are you elderly and could use some extra help with a honey – do – list that is perhaps increasingly difficult to do?  I understand as I help my mother, whose is in her 90’s, with projects that have become increasingly more difficult as the years go by.  I get it!

Hi, I’m Bryan Asher – professional handyman and owner of Handyman Crackerjack and helping busy home-owners, retirees and the elderly with home repairs and maintenance is what I do.

Whether you need a faucet replaced, a ceiling fan hung or just some random repairs done on the house, I have a wide range of skills and I’d be happy to help you.

I’m ready to take care of your home so you can sit back and enjoy it!

My Story

I’m not your typical handyman. I actually do this work because I love it, not because I have to.

You see, up until recently I was sitting at my 9-5 desk job as an insurance salesman. Sure, I was good at what I did, I enjoyed my clients, the pay was great but there was just something missing.

So, I decided to set out on my own and start a handyman business. I know that’s an odd choice, but here’s the deal… I love working with my hands and helping people and I have a lot of experience doing both:

I got an early start on residential maintenance and repair thanks to my father who was a real estate broker during the week and  loved doing home projects on the weekends...also known as a weekend warrior!!

My earliest memory, when I was about 5, is sanding the wood threshold at the front door of our house. I seemed to sand that thing all day long! Truth is he probably gave me that project just to keep me busy for a few hours while he was focusing on whatever project he had underway.

As I got older the project’s he threw my way grew in complexity.

He also started investing in other properties as time went by so the quantity of work he threw my way also began to increase.

When I was a teenager my parents moved our family from San Luis Obispo to the Eastern Sierra’s and purchased an old three story lodge built in 1924 that had 15 rooms, a lobby, offices and a restaurant as well as 40 cabins that is located on 6 acres at an 8600 foot altitude...that means snow folks and lots of it!!!

Talk about ramping up the amount of maintenance, repair and improvement projects that I suddenly found myself faced with…that’s an understatement!!  In any case, I didn't lack for work through my high school and college years...that's for sure.

After finishing university in the Bay Area, I moved to Seattle where I lived for a number of years.

Part of my time in the Northwest involved operating, with my partner, home and garden retail showrooms in Seattle, San Juan Island and Sun Valley, Idaho.

While that experience involved wearing many hats, one of those hats was running crews to build out our retail locations to our particular specs.  Additionally, because we also offered landscape design services I also ran the landscape installation and maintenance crews.

Finally, since we owned homes in our three business locations, I also was responsible for the maintenance and repair of those homes.

In any case,  I think you get the gist here…I’ve had a lot of experience in fixing, repair and installation projects.

So in wrapping up here...I returned to the Central Coast in 2013 where I rejoined long established family in this area and now live on a ranch in San Luis Obispo with four generations of family running in age from less than a year old to over 90.

We have a boarding business that handles about 25 horses not to mention a lot of dogs, cats, chickens and goats running around.

As you can imagine, there are maintenance and repair projects coming up all the time which I handle the lion’s share of.

In essence, I love working with my hands and helping people and so extending my handyman skills beyond family to folks like yourselves makes perfect sense to me…and I hope to you as well!!

Now I get to do what I love full time with skills that I’ve developed over many years to fix, repair or install just about anything…for you!
